CHCPRT025 Identify & Report Children at Risk Course — Online Sunshine Coast

✅ New Mandatory Child Protection Training – What You Need to Know

From 1 April 2025, Queensland law requires key childcare roles (Nominated Supervisors, Persons in Day-to-Day Charge, and Family Day Care Coordinators) to complete approved child protection training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Which courses count?

Only the following nationally recognised units meet requirements:

CHCPRT025 – Identify and report children and young people at risk

CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk (superseded – still valid if completed)

CHCPRT026 – Support the rights and safety of children and young people

CHCPRT002 – Support the rights and safety of children and young people (superseded – still valid if completed)

CHCECE057 – Use collaborative practices to uphold child protection principles

⚠️ Reminder: Short in-house or online refreshers do not meet the requirement. Training must be delivered by an RTO.

National reforms on the way

Across Australia, further childcare safety reforms are being rolled out:

A National Educator Register (trialling from Dec 2025, full rollout by Feb 2026).

Mandatory child safety training, mobile phone bans in centres, and CCTV trials in up to 300 services (from Oct/Nov 2025).

From 1 July 2026, Queensland law will also mandate reporting of sexual offences, severe neglect, and ill-treatment to the QFCC.
